COMPETENCIES
Competency II: Basic Clinical Skills
It is expected that the learner attends the introductory presentations and actively participates in the practice sessions of this course. Satisfactory level 1 performance will be assessed by observation by faculty and peers. A main criteria will be the learner's willingness to practice and improve according to feedback.
Competency VI: The Social and Community Contexts of Healthcare
The learner will design a human patient simulator scenario as part of a group, and will present this scenario to faculty and peers at the end of the course. Within this scenario, the learner will represent a patient, patient family member, nurse, clinican, therapist or other health care worker. Satisfactory level 1 performance will be assessed by faculty and peers by feedback on the content of the case and the learner's ability and willingness to be a productive group member.
The course is a Pass/Fail course. Satisfactory performance requires passing Competency II and VI.
